Sempervivum x hybrida 'Carmen'
- One of the few sempervivums that thrives in the heat and humidity 'Carmen' forms beautiful evergreen rosettes of succulent lettuce-green, maroon-tipped leaves, which turn purple in winter. The rosettes develop by offsets into crowded, colorful, richly textured mats. In summer the older rosettes send out thick stalks bristling with stubby pointed leaves and topped with dense clusters of tightly packed pinkish white blooms. Rosettes die after flowering.
