- Slender Mat Rush. Native to NSW, Australia. Blooms occur in sheaths with two branches, 4 per node. Flower clusters are white, whorled, pungent, and 1 - 4" long. Tepals purple or yellow, with inner tepals yellow or cream. Blooms spring to summer. Flat glabrous to dark green foliage with acute apex, some varieties with lateral teet below apex. Sheath is white, brown, or red brown. Tufted habit.
