- Mound shaped or semi-trailing Lantanas can form large, vine-like shrubs or even trees in the tropics, but most Northern gardeners know them as tender, everblooming annuals with Verbena-like flowers in a wide range of colors and combinations. Foliage is generally dark green, and the plants are fairly trouble free in sun or part shade.
