  • Habitat includes moist forests, dry woodland rainforests, coastal dunes.
  • Blue flowers occur in sprays above foliage from spring to summer, with 3 petals & 3 sepals in a star shape, & prominent yellow anthers.
  • Produced fruit is blue to purple, spherical to elongated, .2-.6" in size.
  • Grass like strap foliage is compressed into flat fans, and occurs in non invasive mounding tufts.
  • Performance best with good moisture & full sun. Rhizomatous root system.
  • Roots and blue fruits of some species are edible.
  • Use for containers, groundcover, or rock gardens.
