Sonata

Cosmos bipinnatus 'Sonata Carmine'

  • Tall and spreading annual tolerant of high light and poor soils. Its lacy foliage and large single or double-petaled flowers make them excellent cut flowers. Because they have quantitative short day length response, spring and autumn flowering is more faster and more profuse than in mid summer. A wide range of colors are available. Cultivars vary in height from 36 to over 60 inches. Shorter, less daylength-sensitive types are slowly being introduced. Cosmos are closely allied to Dahlia, Bidens and Coreopsis.
  • Hardiness Zone: 3-9
